Seraphim

At the summit of the biblical heaven stand, etymologically, fiery flying serpents — singing *Holy, Holy, Holy*.

Seraphim

The "burning ones" around the throne in Isaiah's vision share their name with the *saraph* — the fiery serpent. At the summit of the biblical heaven stand, etymologically, fiery flying serpents, singing *Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh*. The same word covers desert serpent, healed-by-looking bronze icon, and throne-attendant. The West's holiest word for angel is a species of dragon.

The SGE Reading

Essence stage in the *West's own scripture*: at the highest level, the serpent is not fought or befriended but simply present, singing.

Canon Resonance

The Nine Paths' final image translated into biblical vocabulary: the fully awakened dragon as praise.

A Micro-Practice

Repeat the word *holy* three times slowly, and notice — without insisting — that the mouth doing the repeating is itself, biblically, a saraph.
