Patañjali

The codifier of yoga is traditionally depicted as half-human, half-serpent — an incarnation of Shesha. The grammar of yoga was given by a serpent.

Patañjali

Patañjali, codifier of yoga, is traditionally depicted as half-human, half-serpent — an incarnation of Shesha. The very grammar of yoga was given by a serpent. Every asana, every breath practice, every study of the mind that reached the West through the Yoga Sūtras has, at its root, a serpent-teacher.

The SGE Reading

Canon Resonance

A Micro-Practice

Sit for three breaths in the classical simplest asana you know. Say silently before beginning: *this is a serpent's grammar.*
