Nehushtan — The Bronze Serpent

In the wilderness, the healing of the serpent's bite is the beheld serpent. Look upon it, and live.

Nehushtan — The Bronze Serpent

In the wilderness, when serpents strike the people, the instructed remedy is not the serpents' destruction but their image raised on a pole: *look upon the serpent, and live*. Homeopathic, contemplative, exact — the healing of the serpent's bite is the beheld serpent. Centuries later King Hezekiah destroys it because the people had begun worshipping the image: the gift, clung to, re-becomes shadow.

The SGE Reading

Gift stage as *practice, not possession*: the healing works while you look. Cling to the object and it becomes the next shadow.

Canon Resonance

The Bible's own version of the saga's central move: healed by beheld, not by fled.

A Micro-Practice

Bring to mind one "bite" you have taken. Look at it directly for one full minute — not to solve, only to behold. Then let the image go before you become attached to it.
